Preparation of Two-Dimensional Layered CeO2/Bi2O3 Composites for Efficient Photocatalytic Desulfurization

A two-dimensional layered CeO2/Bi2O3 composite was synthesized by microwave solvothermal method. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscope (FESEM), transmission (TEM), UV-Vis diffuse reflection spectroscopy (DRS), and photoelectron (XPS) were used to studied crystal structure, morphology, optical performance, elemental composition the surface electronic state of samples. The photocatalytic properties prepared samples evaluated desulfurization under visible light. When molar ratio Ce Bi 1:2, presented highest rate. Transient Photocurrent measurement, electrochemical impedance (EIS) photoluminescence (PL) showed that CeO2 Bi2O3 formed a heterojunction, which could promote separation photogenerated electrons holes, improving activity. Furthermore, it found active species hydroxyl radical (·OH) played an important role in degradation dibenzothiophene (DBT) based on capture experiment. Finally, plausible mechanism for oxidative this nanocomposite proposed.
